2012 Official Selection – BFI London Film Festival, Fantastic Fest, Toronto After Dark, DOC NYC, STARZ Denver Film Festival, Fantasia Int’l Film Festival, San Sebastian Horror & Fantasy Film Festival

MY AMITYVILLE HORROR is a feature-length documentary directed by Eric Walter, where for the first time in 35 years, Daniel Lutz recounts his version of the infamous Amityville haunting that terrified his family in 1975. George and Kathleen Lutz’s story went on to inspire a best-selling novel, and the subsequent films continue to fascinate audiences today. This documentary reveals the personal horror of growing up as part of a world famous haunting.  And while Daniel’s facts may be others’ fiction, the psychological scars he carries are indisputable.  Nate Hoeft was Co-Editor and Post-Production Coordinator on the film as well as editor for this teaser.

The film was released theatrically by IFC Films on March 15, 2013, and is now available on DVD and streaming via iTunes, Amazon and Netflix.  Visit www.amityvillemovie.com for more information.

“It can be unequivocally stated that My Amityville Horror is the most true-to-life film to deal with the phenomenon, and pretty much as unequivocally stated that it’s the best of them too.” – Michael Gingold, Fangoria

“It examines the frailty of human perception in such a brilliant way that you will be thinking about Daniel Lutz’s story long after the creepy end credits have rolled.” – Serena Whitney, Dread Central

“…a truly heartbreaking examination of a 40 year old man who has spent his life trying to protect a wounded 10 year old boy within him.” – Devin Faraci, Badass Digest

“No matter how many subpar sequels arise from The Amityville Horror‘s beloved legacy, no movie based on those horrific 1975 incidents will match the authenticity and effortless unease of director Eric Walter’s intimate documentary My Amityville Horror.”Complex Magazine

“My Amityville Horror is extremely well-done…this is the definitive Amityville Horror story for me.” – Mark Bell, Film Threat

“This isn’t set up as a thrill-seeking publicity piece or a freak show.  It is thoughtfully structured and very balanced, offering a very even-handed approach to the material.” – TheMonsterPopcorn.com
